What is SEO?
Definition: Search engine optimization is ranking high on the search engine result page organically.
Best practices for this are creating high-quality content, optimizing content as per targeted keywords, & Building good quality backlinks.
If we talk straight then SEO is all about providing solutions to people’s general queries, information & updates. Nowadays search engines promote content that has high relevance and engagement.
As a SEO expert your job is to provide the solution of a query with the desired format.
Here are the Common user intent types:
Informational: Searching for information. Example: “which is the best theme for a personal blog?”
Navigational: Searching for a specific website. Example: “tomato”
Transactional: Searching to buy something. Example: “cellphone offers in may”
Providing relevant, high-quality content on your website will help you rank higher in search results, and more importantly, it will establish credibility and trust with your online audience.
Let’s make our first search: Type “ How to start a bog”
So when you search about “How to start a blog”,
Google will show you some results containing the similar keywords/keyphrase you searched for.
These results have some details in common for example They all have the same key phrase in their Title, url & description. (see the highlighted part in image 1.0)
Now let’s understand a few terms here before starting the deep introduction so that we both can be comfortable while using the SEO terminologies.
- The content you typed while making a search is called as keyphrase/keyword
- The pages displayed by search engines in response to a query by a user are called as SERP (Search Engine Result Page)

- Spider: A bot that is used by search engines to crawl and index websites.
- Stuffing: Using the same keyword too often on the same page.
- UGC: User-generated content, a great way to add unique content to a page.
